KDP Pricing Assistant

Please make sure you also read the Note and Disclaimer at the bottom

You have probably heard of the upcoming change to KDP’s print royalties: starting June 10, 2025, any paperback or hardcover priced at or below $9.99 USD (or the equivalent in other marketplaces) will see its royalty rate drop from 60 percent to 50 percent. If you’ve published a lot of low- or medium-content books, many of your titles likely fall below that $9.99 threshold—and from next June your per-sale earnings will shrink.

Manually updating each book’s list price across every marketplace can quickly become overwhelming if you have many dozens of titles or perhaps even more. I’ve searched for tools to automate this whilst staying within Amazon’s rules, but those I found are either out of date, not specifically focused on price updates, or have inaccessible code—so it’s unclear if they comply with KDP’s terms on automated processes.

That’s why these two scripts are created.
It’s a simple starting point to help automate the process of updating your book prices—especially useful if you have many low- or medium-content books that need adjustments across multiple marketplaces.

To use these scripts, you’ll need Tampermonkey — a free browser extension that lets you run small custom scripts on websites you visit. Think of it as a tool that lets your browser do repetitive tasks for you, like filling out forms or clicking buttons. Once installed, Tampermonkey runs quietly in the background and only activates the script when you visit a specific page—in case of the Bookshelf Script it will be active on the KDP Bookshelf page. And with the Pricing Script, this will be active on the KDP Pricing page. (See also the 2 videos in the banner)

1. Bookshelf Script
This script allows the user to upload a list of ASIN numbers. The script will search for the book associated with the number and re-directs to it's pricing page. On this pricing page, if desired, you can activate the Pricing script to set the new prices for that book.
When returning to the Bookshelf page again you can repeat the procedure by clicking on the 'Resume #2' , 'Resume #3' etc. button and that will repeat the same procedure with the next book of your ASIN list. As you need to click the button each time to process the next book, you can easily abort this, add another ASIN list or continue later.

2. Pricing Script
This script acts as a very basic form-filler assistant—it simply enters prices into the KDP pricing form while you’re on the page, just like you would manually. It does not bulk save or submit and does not add any other information than the prices you have selected. There is the option to safe draft and save & submit for that particular book. But you can always choose to save and submit it by hand one by one. This script only interacts when it is activated and only with the pricing page while you’re on it.
(See also the second video in the banner)

Because the script only automates basic input while you're actively using the site, it stays within the spirit of Amazon’s Terms of Service. You're still in control, and nothing is submitted unless you choose to. Those who are familiar with Javascript can easily customize the script and add more features to it, or speed up or slow down the form-filler procedure. (please read the Note and Disclaimer)

(Tip: If any of your books will move to the 50% royalty rate on June 10, you'll see a message on your Bookshelf along with a link to download your list of affected books. You can select the column with ASINs and save it as text file for the first script)

⚠️ Important Note and Disclaimer:
These scripts have only been tested on one KDP account; It should work on every KDP setup with the following two requirements, but this is not guaranteed.
1. The scripts require that you have Amazon.com as your primary marketplace for all your books
2.The scripts requires that you have All territories(worldwide rights) selected for all your books.
The scripts have been tested in Firefox Browser and Windows 10 (but 'should' also work in Chrome)

The scripts have been tested with Paperback and Hard Cover books ,but also 'should' work for E-Books.

⚠️While this script is designed to help you automate your workflow, it’s always your responsibility to make sure its use complies with Amazon’s terms of service. Be cautious, especially with large-scale automation. Always test on a single title first, and when running larger batches, throttle your pace—avoid submitting too many changes in quick succession.
These scripts are provided "as is" with no official support. For help: You can always review or edit these script inside Tampermonkey before running it , or even copy and paste it inside ChatGPT, asking it to explain what the script does in non-technical terms.
